En este curso se aplican fundamentos estadísticos y econométricos para analizar bases de datos; lo anterior, con el fin de identificar el comportamiento de variables y su relación con otras variables. En el curso también aplican técnicas básicas de pronósticos a través de diferentes metodologías. Se considera que las herramientas impartidas en este curso pueden ser de gran apoyo para los tomadores de decisiones ya que con el análisis de datos se pueden tomar decisiones más precisas y mejor fundamentadas.

La intención de este curso de nivel básico es familiarizar al alumno(a) con diversos métodos estadísticos y econométricos que permitirán al estudiante analizar, entender, e interpretar el comportamiento de variables contenidas en bases de datos.
En primera instancia el alumno(a) aprenderá lo que es una regresión, sus elementos, su importancia, las ventajas de usar regresiones, y los diversos tipos de regresiones que existen. En segunda instancia, el alumno(a) aprenderá los elementos que deben de existir al correr una regresión para determinar si los estimadores obtenidos en dicha regresión son válidos y apropiados al momento de hacer alguna inferencia estadística. En tercera instancia, se aprenderá a interpretar los estimadores de diversos tipos de regresiones. Como cuarto elemento, el alumno(a) aprenderá a realizar pronósticos básicos, así como diferenciar entre diversos modelos econométricos utilizados para realizar dichos pronósticos y el conocimiento para poder identificar el modelo econométrico más apropiado a utilizar dadas las características de los datos.
El objetivo de este curso es incrementar el conocimiento del alumno(a) en aspectos referentes a regresiones lineales y pronósticos. Esto, con el fin que el alumno(a) encuentre en la econometría una herramienta de análisis que puede ser de gran ayuda al momento de tomar decisiones.
El conocimiento impartido en esta clase es muy benéfico para el alumno(a) ya que el saber analizar bases de datos es un diferenciador de alto impacto en el mundo moderno ya que ayuda en gran manera a que los tomadores de decisiones opten por decisiones mejor fundamentas y más efectivas.

  • Interpretar los principales componentes del pensamiento económico aplicados al ambiente global de negocios y que soportan los procesos de toma de decisiones.
  • Identificar diversos métodos estadísticos y econométricos que permitan al estudiante analizar, entender, e interpretar el comportamiento de variables contenidas en bases de datos.
  • Reconocer lo que es una regresión, sus elementos, la ventaja de usar regresiones, y los diversos tipos de regresiones que existen.
  • Distinguir los elementos que deben de existir al correr una regresión para determinar si los estimadores obtenidos son válidos y apropiados al momento de hacer alguna inferencia estadística.
  • Interpretar los estimadores de diversos tipos de regresiones.
  • Calcular pronósticos básicos, así como diferenciar entre diversos modelos econométricos utilizados para realizar dichos pronósticos y el conocimiento para poder identificar el modelo más apropiado a utilizar dadas las características de los datos.

Tema 1: Tópicos básicos de interés en la regresión lineal
1.1 ¿Qué es una regresión? / Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO) como método de minimización de errores.
1.2 Regresión lineal simple y múltiple. / Pruebas de hipótesis, intervalos de confianza. Interpretación de Resultados

Tema 2: Los supuestos requeridos de la regresión lineal
2.1 Supuestos que se deben de cumplir en MCO.
2.2 Variables instrumentales / Regresiones no lineales / Diferentes bases de datos

Tema 3: Otros tópicos de interés en el mundo de las regresiones
3.1 Introducción a series de tiempo / Pronósticos
3.2 Random Walk / Variables estacionarias

Tema 4: Introducción a series de tiempo y pronósticos
4.1 Estacionalidad de variables
