On this course, you will learn how to have simple conversations in Norwegian with family and friends, and handle a variety of everyday situations, like shopping, leisure time, and travelling. You will improve your grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary with the support of engaging videos, practical exercises, and a chatbot. Introduction to Norwegian 2 is a continuation of The University in Oslo’s language course Introduction to Norwegian.

What topics will you cover?

  • Content (learn about life in Oslo): Meet and greet, shopping, food, leisure time, friends, family, travel, job, job interview
  • Grammar: verbs, nouns, adjectives, possessives, quantifiers and sentence structure
  • Phonetics: vowels, r-combinations, diphthongs, Norwegian prosody
  • Contemporary and relevant vocabulary
