Personalised care means giving people choice and control over the way their care is planned and delivered.

Understand the need for collaboration with communities for system change
The personalised care model presents a shift from a top-down healthcare approach to a co-productive practice. This approach requires new leadership across health and social care.
On this course, you’ll develop an understanding of the personalised care approach and how to work with communities to create and implement a plan for change, improve community capacity and reduce the pressure on the healthcare system.

Explore the leadership skills and behaviours required for personalised care
In order to champion personalised care as a leader in the space, you need the skills, will, knowledge, and confidence to work together across boundaries and systems to drive health improvement across the whole population.
This course offers leadership development training to equip you with the skills and mindset you need, as well as the high-level framework of leadership behaviours you need to lead a new approach.

Evaluate what leadership in personalised care looks like in practice
In the final stage of this course, you’ll reflect on what personalised care looks like in practice, in order to understand how to implement the principles in your own behaviour.
With the expertise from the Leadership for Personalised Care Programme, you’ll be equipped to become an effective leader and advocate for personalised care in order to champion the improvement of public health.

By the end of the course, you‘ll be able to...

  • Describe at a high level what personalised care is and why it matters
  • Explain why a new approach to leadership is required for system change in relation to personalised care
  • Explore what good looks like in practice in terms of the leadership that is needed
  • Explore the leadership qualities and behaviours framework as a way to evaluate their own and others’ actions
  • Consider the module content in relation to their own work and actions, in particular starting to think about how their own behaviour contributes to the system
