The Accountant Connect Certification Program is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to become proficient in the use and application of Accountant Connect. Co-developed with Rootworks – the accounting profession’s premier firm improvement organization – and presented by its founder Darren Root, CPA, Accountant Connect product developer Rhonda Shurter, and experts from Wolters Kluwer – the self-study curriculum provides a thorough review of the key tasks and features of Accountant Connect that can help to modernize your firm’s payroll process, improve efficiency, and strengthen advisory services.

Upon passing the exam, you’ll obtain an official certificate, 3 CPE Credits, as well as a digital badge, to help strengthen your firm’s marketing and showcase your expertise. Program Content:
This 3-hour and 15-minute course reviews the key tasks and features of Accountant Connect and prepares you for the certification exam. Topics include adding and working with clients, automating reports and tax forms, advising clients with the analysis tools, and leveraging the products and services offered through Accountant Connect, including the Wolters Kluwer’s CCH Resource Library.

What You Will Learn

  • Be prepared for the certification exam.
  • Know how to leverage the products and services offered through Accountant Connect, including the Wolters Kluwer’s CCH Resource Library.
  • Be able to perform tasks that include adding and working with clients, automating reports and tax forms, advising clients with the analysis tools.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
Setting Up Accountant Connect
This 26-minute video reviews the key tasks related to setting up Accountant Connect: Set up your profile, add firm users with the appropriate access and security level, use Service Connect to submit a service request, access notifications related to your clients' accounts.

WEEK 2
Adding and Working with Clients
This 25-minute video reviews the key tasks related to managing your clients in Accountant Connect: Add your ADP clients in Accountant Connect, refer a client to ADP, work with your client list in Accountant Connect using the tools to search, filter, and sort the list, access a client's reports and tax forms, payroll, general ledger, or tax notices and amendments, hide or delete a client in Accountant Connect.

WEEK 3
Automating Reports and Tax Forms
This 18-minute video reviews the key tasks related to generating reports in Accountant Connect: Generate reports for one or multiple clients, create a report schedule, access reports that were automatically run view the reports scheduled to run, generate a report for a single client employee.

WEEK 4
Better Advising with Analysis Tools
This 24-minute video reviews the key tasks related to using the analysis tools in Accountant Connect. How to use the analysis tools to help you proactively advise your clients.

WEEK 5
Getting Beyond Just a Payroll Business
This 22-minute video reviews the key tasks related to leveraging the products and services in Accountant Connect: Help your firm productize your offerings, use the client insights as an opportunity to be proactive in reaching out to your clients to educate them on the products you can offer through Accountant Connect, leverage the products and services offered by ADP and through the ADP Marketplace and exclusive partnerships.

WEEK 6
Using Marketing and Tax Resources
This 15-minute video reviews the key tasks related to leveraging the marketing and tax resources in Accountant Connect. Learn to leverage the resources offered in Accountant Connect to help you serve your clients, grow your knowledge, and attain CPE credits.

WEEK 7
Using the Wolter Kluwer’s CCH Resource Library and Tax Resources
This 26-minute video reviews the key tasks related to accessing the valuable resources in the Wolters Kluwer CCH Resource Library in Accountant Connect: Navigate the CCH Tax Resource Library, access relevant research materials, locate valuable tools and resources.

WEEK 8
Taking the Final Exam
How to go about taking the final exam to receive the official certification.
