Photography Basics: Exposure Part 1 - Understanding 18% Grey (Skillshare)

When shooting in auto mode your camera makes decisions on exposure based on how it "sees" a scene and compares that to 18% grey. If you shoot on auto mode this class will explain why, sometimes your images are over and under exposed. This class is the first of a series of classes that will help you to move off of auto modes and eventually into manual modes.

Project Description
In this class project you are going to take 2 photos in auto mode and exactly what the camera is doing in order to determine proper exposure. You'll take a picture of something white and something black and on auto mode you will see that you get the exact same result.
