We will utilize warm and cool lighting to achieve dynamic colors, giving a contemporary feeling to portraits painted with traditional techniques. You will learn how to achieve a better likeness as well as how to paint convincing African American flesh tones.

Your assignment is to create a full color portrait painting! Let your painting dry between each stage. If you are using a drying medium such as Walnut Alkyd Medium, Drying Linseed Oil, or Liquin, it will be dry the next day. If you're just using linseed oil it may take a couple days to dry between layers (touch it lightly to check).
