Find Your Path to SAP S/4HANA (openSAP)

Just under two years ago, SAP announced the new business suite for the digital economy: SAP S/4HANA. Since then, SAP S/4HANA has become one of the fastest growing SAP products. Even before SAP released SAP S/4HANA 1610, 4,100 customers had been reached. The ambition is to be the de facto business standard for the digital economy. If you’re asking yourself: “When is the right time to move to SAP S/4HANA and how?” this course will provide you with the answers to the WHY, WHAT, and HOW.

Digital transformation is reinventing the global economy. Individuals, businesses, and societies are becoming interconnected in real time, leading to a new digital economy that is more collaborative, intelligent, responsive, and efficient. As a result, businesses have to adapt to maintain and grow their market share within their field of operation. To stay ahead of the crowd, they need to realize a drastic increase in productivity and economic value.

SAP S/4HANA is SAP’s next-generation business suite that enables customers to streamline data models, optimize daily business transactions, accelerate strategic decision making, and simplify with a digital core – whether you use it in the cloud or on premise.
As an existing customer or partner, you may be asking yourself: “When is the right time to move to SAP S/4HANA and how?” This 4-week course aims to answer your questions about the WHY, WHAT and HOW. Experts from Product Management and Co-Innovation for SAP S/4HANA will lay out the fundamentals of the SAP S/4HANA adoption journey and explain three of the most popular scenarios for your path to SAP S/4HANA:

  • New implementation (greenfield implementation)
  • System conversion (brownfield implementation)
  • Landscape transformation.

During the first week, you’ll gain an insight into the innovation highlights and selected new use cases of the latest SAP S/4HANA 1610 release, and how to interpret the roadmap. In addition, you’ll learn about the latest deployment options for SAP S/4HANA and how to make your project a success. Week 1 will then conclude with an introduction to the award-winning SAP Fiori 2.0.
In the following three weeks, you’ll dive deeper into the details of the implementation scenarios. Week 2 covers new implementation as a fresh start. Using a case study, we’ll walk you through important aspects of a fresh start based on the new SAP Activate for SAP S/4HANA implementation framework, all the way from preparation to go-live.
Week 3 covers system conversion for an already installed SAP system. Here, we’ll show you how to move a complete SAP ERP application – and the business processes supported by SAP ERP – from your current SAP Business Suite running on any database to SAP S/4HANA.
Week 4 deals with landscape transformation, where we’ll shed light on the different scenarios and conclude with a comparison of new implementation and system conversion.
Each of these weeks will contain a combination of introductions to the topic and system demonstrations that explain key steps in the transition to SAP S/4HANA and give decision support as well as concrete next steps. It’s a must-join for any consultant considering an SAP S/4HANA project.
After week four, you’ll have a further week to prepare for and participate in the final exam and earn a record of achievement. Also, your feedback and ideas are highly appreciated throughout the course. We therefore encourage you to participate in the discussion forums.

Application Integration Made Simple with SAP HANA Cloud Integration (openSAP)

In this course, we address one of the most important considerations when it comes to companies moving to the cloud: integration. Imagine a customer orders an article on the Internet. Clicking the “Buy article” button triggers a lot of processes, and data is exchanged between different software systems so that the article is shipped, the seller’s catalog of goods is updated, and the correct amount is invoiced. If you want to implement such an application for your enterprise, you face the challenge of cross-linking a large number of different software systems and data sources. You also need to consider that the systems typically “speak” different connection protocols and store their data in different formats. SAP HANA Cloud Integration helps you to solve this challenge.

Transformation to Hybrid Landscapes (openSAP)

While the cloud provides access to functionality for easy consumption, customers often want to keep dedicated systems on-premise. SAP supports hybrid deployments, a combination of on-premise and cloud, to get the best of both worlds. However, this opens up questions on architectural best practices, integration options, security aspects, and how to operate the new environment. In this course, you will get an overview of SAP’s cloud offerings and a deep dive into what hybrid means for integration, security, and operations, along with examples of SAP’s best practices and recommendations. We will also talk about transformation scenarios and the impact this has on your organization. Finally, we will provide some guidelines on how to start your own hybrid transformation journey.
